WHO Regional Office for Europe organized the meeting of national counterparts for the European Strategy for Tobacco Control. The meeting was hosted by the Ministère des solidarités, de la santé et de la famille, France. The meeting was held in Paris 12 – 14 May 2005.

The main aim of the meeting was to review and promote the implementation of the ESTC and the further process for the FCTC. SEE project coordinators were invited to participate in this meeting as observers.

Meeting of SEE project coordinators was held during counterparts meeting, on May 14th. The main aim of the meeting was to discuss and introduce a harmonious approach for a successful organization of a Regional intergovernmental consultation of south-eastern European countries on the process for the WHO FCTC, held in Sofia, 29-30 September 2005, as well as completion of the regional studies The meeting was attended by the Regional Project Manager (RPM) and eight Country Project Managers (CPMs), national counterparts for the European Strategy for Tobacco Control of the countries which are involved in the Project.
