The aim of the meeting was to review outcomes during the six month implementation of the project, challenges faced and lessons learned as well as to discuss further steps needed for the succesfull completion of three policy reviews: review of national legislation in light of the FCTC, review of economic aspects related to tobacco in the region and update of the publication “Consequences of and policy responses to tobacco epidemic in South-East Europe” from 2004.
The meeting was attended by all country project managers, WHO Regional Office for Europe staff, Luk Jossens (international expert on tobacco economics) and Ivana Božičević (author of the publication “Consequences of and policy responses to tobacco epidemic in South-East Europe” from 2004).
