National Meetings

The FCTC was signed on June 25, 2004 and ratified on 27 January 2006.

National Meeting on Capacity Building in Tobacco Control

On 13th April 2007 was organized in Bucharest the national meeting according to the work plan of the project "Public Health Capacity Building for Strengthening Tobacco Control in South-East Europe" – Component 2.

The participants were the representatives of the main ministries involved in the implementation of the FCTC, nominated by the irrespective minister (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Anti drug Agency, National Council for Combating Discrimination, Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Family, ), journalists and the IntaCT-RO team. , the meeting was very useful because it offered the framework for exchanging new points of view and strengthen the principle that only an intersectorial approach of tobacco control measures has success. Organization of other bipartite meetings was decided for next weeks.
